he Beginner’s Yoga course is a great way to meet our teachers and try yoga! If you have ever wondered, “What are these different styles of yoga?” or “I don’t know which class to go to,” this course is for you. Each month a new teacher will introduce you to the basics of yoga in their individual style of teaching and practice.
The Yoga Shala of Portland offers classes with well-trained, certified yoga teachers –- many of whom have been teaching for years and continue their education and training through ongoing study. Based in the roots of classical yoga, our course reflects the individual path each teacher has taken in training with different teachers and traditions of yoga. We developed this course with the belief that there is a teacher for everyone, and we would like to help you find one you enjoy at the Shala!
For your first class, all you need is yourself and comfortable clothing you can move in. We have mats and other props for you to use, as well as mats for sale if you would like one of your own.
